Recent improvements across the Groove Deck, Learn, Studio, and Jam. Updated July 16, 2026.

- Follow me — a band that actually listens. Turn it on in the Groove Deck and allow the mic: the band steps back when you go quiet and comes right back when you play. Off by default; the full loop keeps playing if you'd rather it did.
- Record is one place now. Recording a take and catching a quick idea used to be two separate tabs — they're one Record surface now, so an idea can grow into a full take without starting over.
- Record an idea, hear your band play it. Hum a melody and beatbox a rhythm — the band learns YOUR beat and plays it back in the deck. One tap turns an idea into a full song draft (intro, verse, chorus, outro).
- Live lyrics & voice-directed edits. Words you sing while recording are transcribed as you go (optional, one tap off). With voice commands on, just say “make it jazzier” or “add a bridge”.
- The Jam has a new band — and it's live. A hand-drawn cast of fourteen musicians plays with you in The Groove Room, each drawn in six poses and lit for the room. Pick your instrument, take the stage.
- A warmer, more human studio voice. Every spoken line — count-ins, section calls, encouragement — was re-recorded in a natural, relaxed voice.
- Settings, front and center. A proper Settings page behind the header gear — the voice assistant, playback, live lyrics, notifications, and theme in one place.
- Trust & polish. Cloud backups of ideas now survive every reload; deletions are verified (or retried automatically) instead of assumed; clearer Free-plan wording; an updated Privacy Policy; and dozens of fixes from a full external audit.

- Play along. Pick your instrument and the band steps out of your part, so you fill it yourself — play the bassline, comp the chords, or sing over the top.
- A more realistic band. The backing band now plays across a real stereo stage with a human pocket and subtle ghost notes — it feels more like live musicians in a room.
- Export to MIDI. Download any groove as a MIDI file and open it in your favourite music app — GarageBand, Logic, Ableton, or MuseScore.
- Five instruments. Piano, guitar, ukulele, bass, and voice — each with a built-in live tuner and pitch check.
- More guides. New beginner guides on playing by ear, what a key is, improvising over chords, and 7th chords.
- Share your groove. Export the generated band as an audio file and share it from any groove.
- Play along with classics. Load a classic chord progression straight into the Groove Deck.
- Faster sign-in. Continue with Google or Apple.
